London has over 750 docking stations and 11,500 bikes available for anybody to hire spread right the way across the capital.
To hire a bike you just need to find a docking station, you will find yourself passing them all the time in central London, and access your bike(s) using a credit or debit card.
The instructions are on the machine as you hire your bike and it’s a very simple process. You will pay £2 to access a bike for 24 hours, once you have your bike the first 30 minutes is then free. After your 30 minutes is up you will then pay an additional £2 for each half an hour or part of that you keep the bike.
It’s a good system and often you can reach your destination in your free period and dock your bike, once you have finished your activities select another bike and continue on your journey, by docking and leaving the bike at each location you will only be paying for time spent riding.
You can collect a bike from any docking station to continue your journey.
There are a number of apps available to be downloaded on your phone which will let you know where your nearest docking station is located.
Official App
The official SantaderCycles app enables you to check where docking stations are, whether there are bikes available and if you register you can even book your bike from your phone bypassing the docking station.
